The “Once Upon a Feminist” podcast is available wherever you get your podcasts.
I've been working on this podcast for the better part of the last year, and it's finally go time! I hope some of you give the show a listen. While the main audience is women on dating apps, and my instagram followers, of course, there is is something for everyone (single, married, in between and otherwise), and I really hope the men in my life (and yours) consider listening to some episodes, especially chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7
After years of sharing screen shots of the encounters I've had with men on dating apps (and then turning them into art via Sareytales) it felt like the next step was to do something with all the insight, advice, and further questions I had about men's behavior. From the different types of fuck boys we encounter in real life and digital dating, to the actual data behind the text messages, to women's critical concerns about dating safety and navigating through the toxic masculinity that the digital dating world is rife with.
I’d like to give one final thank you to my muses, the men of dating apps. My work @sareytales is a collection of original art and designs inspired by the toxic, cruel and misogynistic messages I have received during my online dating journey. I consider the cishet (disproportionately white) men of dating apps my muses. They inspire me daily to continue creating, sharing and naming the systems of oppression that uphold the status quo of white male dominance, aka the patriarchy. Thanks for making my art, and this podcast, all possible.
